Spider.my started out as a search engine on my desk near Port Dickson, about a year ago. I wanted to write the whole thing in Java. I panicked at the size and complexity of some of the Java application servers, so I wrote my own called 'Spinneret'. The search engine wasn't bad, but I couldn't afford the electricity and RAM. Maybe I'll reincarnate some of the code for something on the new spider.my, but it won't be a full search engine! May 2010 tentative new spider.my does appear to be a search engine.
